So why is Urban Outfitters so expensive? Jeans are reliable; I strongly endorse unbranded denim; got a pair on sale for $20 four years ago and they've held up damn well. I think everything in there is pretty good for trendier streetwear type stuff. Urban Outfitters has had a rough couple of years.

I order through UO just because I don't live in the States, but I would suggest taking a look at their stuff.

For some reason I hate shopping there in person. A lot of their stuff tends to be overpriced though so I wouldn't really buy anything that isn't on sale. I have kind of resorted to Urban Outfitters because it's usually about half the price of Free People stuff, but even then, UO can be a bit pricier than I can easily afford.
I just checked where my Urban clothes are made from and the majority of things said Made in China, except for like one shirt I own which was made in the U.S.A. amazing sales, but I rarely find anything worthwhile at their regular prices. Other than that they're pretty overpriced and a lot of their stuff is ugly and on its way out.
Once the Founder of a Food Co-op opens the store, what is their role next? I'd avoid their house branded shoes and most of their graphic tees, but other than that I haven't had any issues. You can get better quality and cheaper basics at Uniqlo or The Gap or whatever your preference. Subscriber

The stuff is very trendy, urban, youthful and extremely casual. Decent oxfords and knits, great socks, and sometimes they carry Unbranded denim. I don't buy an Urban Outfitters branded stuff. They started carrying a new line (I think) recently called Without Walls that has some great activewear. Also, UO has a lot of hypebeast sort of stuff so that's why I don't end up there that often. An image of a chain link. Once the go-to spot for the young and hip, the chain has faced declining sales in recent years. On top of that, it's overpriced, according to Eric Beder at Brean Murray Carret & Co. Beder writes that the chain's pricey clothes are driving away the teen customers they're so desperate to attract. They're not bad.
For all the accent pieces and homewares, you can go to a thrift store. I don't think I'd buy anything at regular price there though.

Watch for coupon codes and sales like "$50 off $150 + free shipping" or "50% off all sale items" and you can get cheaper Red Wings, Sperries, Chucks, and CDBs. Quality is so-so, but worth it if the given item is on sale and what you need.
