Come to your interview prepared with at least 2-3 questions about the program (here are a few things worth asking an MFT program about), the faculty, or other students. What's the difference between an MFT (or LMFT), an LPC (or LPCC), and an LCSW? As you become a working professional, their diploma will be hanging on your wall, and you will thus be representing their educational programming. Graduate school is a whole different beast – graduate school is as different from undergraduate as undergrad was from high school. As such, the push toward a mental wellness model in academia is underway, but it’s slow-going. There are many graduate students who start and do not finish – an unfortunate reality, but a reality nonetheless. Tell them how you are working past (or how you have worked past) such limitations. Applying for graduate school can be quite a meticulous process, and you might find that participating in an interview is a part of it.
What can you offer them that others may not be able to offer (or, at least, not in the same ways as you)?

General questions are the kinds of questions you will almost certainly face, usually asking for basics about you, your intentions, and your interests.
Tell them. I do have a subscription to [Top Journal], but I haven’t had an opportunity to really dig into the latest issue yet. Ask your professors or a research librarian. If you’re still a mystery after the interview, they might rightly wonder how successful you would be at building relationships with other new people (namely, clients). What is your most significant accomplishment? In what ways have your previous experiences prepared you for graduate study in our program? However, your response needs to go further than that, especially if you’re applying to a PhD program. MFT Program interview.
If you could have dinner with anyone, living or dead, who would it be? If you didn’t have a strong relationship with your supervisor, if you found institutional support lacking, or something like that, this would be an institutional issue. The delivery of your questions affects the impression you make.
To be honest, over the past month, I’ve been handling a heavy load at school, so my recreational reading time has been spent more on fiction than non-fiction.

How would you handle a problem with your colleague or supervisor?
Personal questions are questions about your own attitudes and experiences. (In smaller programs, learn what you can about *all* the faculty; that way you can talk intelligently about whose interests most closely align with yours.). That is what leaves me wanting to craft an interdisciplinary study that puts current historical studies into conversation with media studies. A lot of candidates spend time highlighting traits that are generally positive, but common in the pool of applicants you’re competing with. WHY do you love those specific things about the field? Is there anything you wish you would have known coming in? While the first blog is definitely not in the MFT field, he still has some good ideas about what to consider when applying. Know your interviewers. Your accomplishments are valid and worthy and you should absolutely be proud of them.
