Hi, I just discovered today that Hazel can indeed optimise your images as well, with a simple apple script from Asian Efficiency. If anyone doesn't know the app Hazel by noodlesoft, I highly recommend checking it out.
If you want to give yourself time to edit or move the file yourself before Hazel takes hold, also add the condition that the date added is not in the last 1 hour. If you don’t work so much with screen shots but have lots of files coming in with similar names, just edit the “Screen Shot” condition so that it suits your files. Let’s go a bit further with this rule, though, and see what else Hazel can do for us. Open Hazel in System Preferences and add a folder to watch on the left pane.
When you first launch the pane, you’ll be in the Info tab which tells you whether or not Hazel is currently running and gives you some other information.
You specify the folders you want Hazel to watch and then set exact conditions that must be met before Hazel will act. Hazel is in the mood for muffins!

I think I used five in my example, but you can add as many as you like, since we’re using the “any” operator and won’t be excluding files by including extra conditions. To keep the folder clean, you can create another rule to delete text files older than one day. While the logic is simple, you can chain together a bunch of complex functions to make sophisticated programs and then set them to run whenever you’d like. Second, the Kind of file should be PNG, or “Portable Network Graphics image” to Hazel. Make sure to click OK to save your new rule. To create a new rule in Hazel, first click on the folder you want Hazel to monitor in the Folder sidebar. Once you’ve got your filename and type sorted, choose the Sort Into Subfolder action and create a pattern for the folder name. Then while selecting that folder, add Rules on the right pane. If everything looks good, you can go ahead and resume if you paused the rules and actions before.
