Just an update for the contributors to my post. When I hunted with a .30 WCF I used the Remington 150-grain Core-Lokts to good effect. I reload 30-30 and that was what I was shooting. Hit chest right at heart area, bullet deflected, went around ribs, blew hole out of fur on other side. 150's work just fine. These have been known to expand so rapidly that a large surface wound is created, but the vitals are not penetrated and the animal is lost.
