Any fixes I came across just suggested debonding the existing phones but my system wouldn’t let me do that. Just tried pulling F7 and it doesn?t look like it did anything. Just turn it back on with the USB drive still inserted and the system should say already up to date. Nevertheless, I downloaded it and ran the update procedure and everything works perfect now! It was working fine, we got out of the car to eat breakfast, and when we got back in it was no longer working. Pretty sure we pulled the right one.

Turn on your car audio system via the button, ie – not ignition switch. So I have to shut off the car and restart my phone to get it to sync. A master reset of SYNC erases all stored data—such as call history, text message information, and previously paired phones—and restores SYNC to factory settings. I unpaired SYNC from phone, deleted all devices from Ford SYNC, did a Master Reset in Ford SYNC, key-cycled the vehicle –and then repaired. But when I tried to view current slots and debond the previous owner’s phones the car system threw a wobbly and timed out, sometimes turning itself off and only turning the engine on could start it up again. Our phones are still unable to find SYNC when searching for a Bluetooth connection. However, I can still send/receive calls via Bluetooth and Ford SYNC.
Press the Phone button > scroll to System Settings > Press OK > scroll to Bluetooth Devices > Press OK > select Off > select On. On SYNC, turn Bluetooth Off, then On. Eventually I found some old firmware from 2012 on a website. www.reverbstudios.ie I browsed around some apple forums(since you said you had an iphone) and it seems connectivity issues are on both sides of apple and sync, updates still seem to have issues with connectivity. It was working fine, we got out of the car to eat breakfast, and when we got back in it was no longer working. That’s it done.
