a good distance up/down a hill from our vehicle. I went to this park during the thanksgiving weekend and the fall colours were just gorgeous! There's also lots of wildlife around the area.

It is close to the washrooms (read outhouse) but upwind from it so there’s no risk of getting whiffs of the washrooms.
Took a kayak over as the ferry was closed due to Covid. Evicted visitors are prohibited from re-entering any provincial park … Generic trail through the woods.
It wasn't electrical, and it was a 10 minute drive from the gate. Even though they might look like old-style out-houses, many have flush toilets, and this is indicated on the Site Map.

A paddle across to our site was easy and the lake was very nice. The comfort station was a short walk - make sure you bring a strong flashlight for the walk in the blackout type of dark. Building capacity restrictions are in place. Bon Echo, my apologies, but you don't make the five stars. Toddler approved! No showers as per Covid unfortunately.
We crossed paths with very few people until the last two loops. Everything in the cabin was in excellent condition and seemed well cleaned. The guy there is kind of awkward. The only portage we did was from the parking lot to the launch, about 500 metres. Activity available only where weather conditions permit.
There was lineups on the weekend and the park wasn't even full. My only complaint about the canoe rental was they told us it was cash only, and then when the Park Ranger came, they started to accept debit. let me start off by saying that I have not been back country in Bon Echo. If you want to learn more about the park check out the Greystones right next to the Visitors Centre. A beautiful location on a lake; well-marked trails; visitors (and dogs) spaced well apart; very well maintained. Staff were very friendly. It was our first time here and this was our experience: Check in was a bit confusing. The sign says at the lookout on the map "not what you think" and it's true. Also, it isn't really a beach. He was driving around us making waves.

We did not go on the Kishkebus canoe route as the wind was too strong at the narrows. The flush toilet is worth it, if you are someone who doesn't want to endure the smell of a vault toilet.However, I will go "to the vault", as it were, if I have a really exceptional site.I know why they call it Bon Echo: the large, signature cliff of the park creates a resounding echo if you shout across the lake. A water station is also, My husband and I came here last weekend for an anniversary getaway. That was unfortunate.
There's a 2 person or 1 family limit for the washrooms, so sometimes you had to wait. Sorry, there are no tours or activities available to book online for the date(s) you selected. The lake was fairly quiet, with day-trippers and other campers, so, social distancing was easy and it felt like we were in the interior... even though we knew our car was pretty close!
